Delete a Segment

WARNING:

Just as we warned to be very careful when you delete a module, it is just as important not to make mistakes in deleting one of your segments. Getting in a hurry and deleting the wrong segment can result in hours, days, or even weeks of lost work so take your time and do it correctly. You will only make this mistake once.

STEP 1

While it is not necessary, to eliminate the chance of deleting the wrong segment, before I delete I go into the edit segment screen and put a series of "XXXXXXX" behind the title. This just insures I am deleting the right segment when I hit the DELETE Button. See the image below:

STEP 2

The second thing to do is click on the MANAGE MODULES on the taskbar drop down

The next window brings up a list of all the modules and segments in the entire course. Scroll down and find the segment you want to delete. This is where having the title for the segment you wish to delete marked with XXXXXX comes in handy.

When you locate the segment you wish to delete, click on the Garbage Can associated with the segment (on the right side of the page). See the red arrow on the image below.

STEP 4

 When you click the delete button you will see a POP-UP that asks if you are sure you want to delete this segment.  If you are sure of your choice to delete, click OK.
